Lot:148 , WWII Romanian I.O.R. Bucuresti Trench Periscope & Tripod
Description:
This green-painted aluminum periscope features clear excellent optics complete with rangefinded measurements. The side is marked with the ''I.O.R. / Bucuresti'' logo over ''5x8/500''. Scope and tripod are each in excellent condition. All correct components are present and both scope and tripod show no more than expected tiny handling marks of negligible effect. Each includes a respective transport case. The periscope case is green-painted sheet steel and rates about very fine to excellent with just a few small handling marks. The tripod case is canvas with leather tips at either end and rates good, remaining largely whole while showing light pilling and staining on the canvas and scuffing on the surfaces of the leather. The bottom tip shows moderate tears in the leather, fortunately all stitching remains intact and the case as a whole shows little to no material loss. Overall an excellent WWII periscope set.
