18th – 19th C. American Naval Whaling Blubber Knife. With a broad double-edged blade of distinctive form retaining very sharp edges. Large wooden walnut grip with a steel bolster. A very nice and clean example used by early American seamen. Overall length: 15 1/2". Blade length: 9 1/2"
