A Rare 19th C. English / American Gambler’s Bowie Knife with Set of Bone Dice inside Grip. Large carved ebony or blackwood grip with screwed on brass pommel cup containing the original playing dice, with its German silver guard and ferrule, wearing a strong clip-point blade marked "COMBINATION Patent 8792 SHEFFIELD" along the spine and struck maker’s name "JOHN NEWTON & Co." to ricasso, the other side of ricasso with a very unusual struck Frog maker’s mark. A good large example with its original brass mounted scabbard to match the pommel.Total Length (inside scabbard if present) : 12 1/2", Blade Length : 7"
