A Spectacular American Civil War era Presentation Officer’s Sword of German Manufacture. Blade with highest grade etched decorations and gold gilt finish, depicting War-trophies, fine floral scrolls and Patriotic motives, one side with a large Motto "FOR UNION AND LIBERTY", ricasso with well preserved maker’s mark to "Clauberg, Solingen". In its fancy brass furniture with a silvered figural grip depicting a Lady Liberty on one side. An exceptionally attractive saber, which possibly had a presentation plaque inside the brass rope-shaped frame at the front of the brown-blued steel scabbard.
