A Fine Large 1840s-1850s English Bowie knife by "J. Walters & Co. Globe Works, Sheffield". Predating the American Civil War era but most definitely used through the war, having an exquisite carved grip with an interesting bust pommel of someone important, possibly even Abe Lincoln. Mounted with a very large broad blade of very unusual configuration, being flat on one side and having finely worked spine to the other, showing well preserved struck maker’s logo to the front. Total Length (inside scabbard if present) : 16 1/2", Blade Length : 10 1/4"
