A Scarce Presentation Grade Non-Regulation M-1850 US Cavalry Officer’s Sword. In its finely detailed brass furniture with cast in high relief and chiseled foliage decorations and spectacular American Eagle to the guard, shark skin grip retaining its original brass wire, with few loose coils. Mounted with a German made blade which exhibits finest quality etched decorations of floral scrolls, war-trophies and Patriotic motives, maker marked at ricasso. In its iron scabbard with very ornate brass mounts. A very attractive Large pre-Civil War era saber of rather scarce type. Total Length (inside scabbard if present) : 42 1/2", Blade Length : 34 1/2"
