A Beautiful early 19th C. French Napoleonic Officer’s Rapier Sword. With elaborate details to the fire gilt brass mounts, featuring a Monogrammed shield to the checkered ebony grip and a spectacular resting lion to the clam shell guard, the rest with fine chiseled details. Mounted with a triangular blade retaining much of its blued and gilt decorations, including a maker’s name at ricasso. An exceptionally attractive and elegant weapon, worn by one of Napoleons officers with dress or parade uniform. Total Length (inside scabbard if present) : 38 1/2", Blade Length : 33 1/2"
