Mixed metal study of a pheasant by Masatsune Kimura from the Meiji Period (1868-1912), Japan. Finely sculpted and chased pheasant in gold, silver, shakudo and shibuichi. Accompanied by fitted hardwood stand. Artist signed on the bird’s stomach within a cartouche on the feathers. Unusual large size.Bird is 33 1/2" long and 12" height ( without stand ).
