Strong 19th C. Russian Caucasian Peasant’s KINJAL Dagger. An interesting example made for the warrior of less than average wealth, who could not afford to own several Kinjals, so this one, while remaining an absolutely deadly weapon, is equipped with two different color grips, one is of bone for every day wear and the back grip is of black horn, to be flipped over inside the scabbard for the wear of the dagger during the funerals or times of mourning. Having simple silver inlays to its iron mounts and wearing a very broad multi-fullered blade, struck with a maker’s cartouche to the front. In its restrained leather bound wood scabbard having iron suspension band and tip.Dagger is 22 1/4", blade is 16".
