Early Russian Caucasian Shashka Sword, Ca. 18th-19th C. A nice early example wearing a lightly curved broad double-fullered blade marked with a running wolf in the imitation of the prized early Germanic made blades, this one however is of Caucasian manufacture most likely dating from the 1700s era. Large hilt of one piece marine material, has old repairs most likely done while the sword was still in service. In its leather bound wood scabbard still retaining its original belt for wear.Sword is 37 3/4", blade is 30 1/4".
