Fine 18th-19th C. Ilamic ottoman Turkish YATAGAN Sword Dagger in Silver & Coral Mounts. A lovely example dressed in its repousse silver furniture and set with series of red corals, retaining traces of its mostly worn gold gilt finish. Mounted with a almost straight single edged blade of actively patterned Wootz damascus steel. grips of marine nature carved in traditional eared pommel form. A very attractive and quality example overall, carried by a Janissaries warrior of significant status and rank. Dagger is 20", blade is 12 1/2".
