Spectacular 17th C. Spanish Rapier Sword by FREDERICO PICHINIO. Truly an outstanding example with most unusual and highly detailed brass furniture with various crests, crucifixes and other unique details possibly of Masonic nature, the steel wire bound grip bordered by chiseled steel pommel and extra-long cross guard. Mounted with a superb quality large double edged blade by one of the most famous Spanish makers of the era, whose name is proudly struck to the fuller on each side, other engraved decorations with traces of gold finish to the lower half of this impressive and rare blade. A spectacular example overall, of possibly significant historical importance, definitely deserves further research by keen collector.Rapier is 38" long.
