Scarce 17th C. Transitional Small Sword Rapier, French, Spanish or Italian. An early transitional example with its iron hilt mounts chiseled and pierced with decorations, having a fine braid steel wire grip with turk-head bands. mounted with a sturdy double edged blade, starting out as hexagonal section later becoming of diamond section towards the tip, lower blade with large fullers struck with maker marks and writings.Sword is 41,5", blade is 35".
