Interesting and Unusual 17th-18th C. European Rapier Sword. With its chiseled steel hilt mounts having a most elaborate open-work clam shell guard, the wooden grip having its complex and fine braid leather cord cover. Mounted with a strong double edged blade of diamond cross-section for most of its length, the lower blade having reinforced rectangular section. An attractive and seldom encountered variation of Renaissance aristocrat’s weapon.Rapier is 30", blade is 23,5".
