Very Fine 19th C. Austrian Hungarian Officer’s Sword. With its richly gilt furniture adorned with floral relief decorations, hilt having a wonderful Austro-Hungarian imperial eagle to the cross guard and set up with pair of fine Mother of pearl gips, topped with an impressive Lion’s head pommel. Wearing a deeply curved large-fullered blade retaining most of its original mirrored finish, lower blade with etched panels depicting war trophies and floral motives, one side bearing a crowned royal cipher. An exceptionally attractive and overall well preserved higher rank officer’s saber and a very significant battle-weapon if so required.Sword is 35 3/4", blade is 29 1/4".
