Beautiful 18th-19th C. Japanese Sword Tsuba ~ NAMBAN ~ possibly Chinese import. Imported as gifts, and very popular with doctors as they demonstrated a certain worldliness. Fine and very attractive example, pierced iron with dragons temple and scrolls, retaining much of its gold gilt inlays. Diameter : 2 3/4" x 2 7/8"
