Rare 16th C. German DUSAGE or SINCLARE Horseman’s Cutlass Sword. A nice example of these seldom encountered early Germanic horseman’s sabers, with its complex steel hilt mounts having large sail guard and a basket hilt construction, with iron wire grip and large pyramid shaped pommel. Mounted with a lightly curved blade with light fuller to each side, struck with a maker’s mark at ricasso. Very good condition considering extensive age of the weapon, solid overall. Overall length: 36 1/2" Blade length: 32"
