Massive 16th-17th C. Hungarian or Polish SHISHPAR Mace ~ BULOVA. A rare early weapon from Eastern Europe, of very unusual and seldom encountered configuration, having a massive iron head of 15-flang construction, one flang lost, possibly in battle. Mounted on a replacement wood haft which appears to be of the period or slightly later, bears an old collection tag. Rare and powerful weapon, built for crashing through helmets and armor. Total length (inside scabbard if present) : 19 1/2" Blade length : 5 1/2"
