Rare 15th-16th C. English BOLLOCK Thrusting Dagger ~ Engraved Blade. A fascinating early example of the type mostly attributed to German Landsnecht warriors, this one appearantely is English in origin, with its black-wood grip carved in octagonal section with a kidney shaped guard of traditional form. Mounted with a strong thrusting blade of cruciform section, both sides with engraved decorations including a lengthy inscription : IF YE WOLD HAVE ME KIS MY MASTERS ARSE AND TAR ME on one side, and : ASK ME NOT PRAY YOW FOR MY MASTER WIL DENY YOW to another side. Rare late Medieval era dagger, especially so being an English Crusader warrior’s weapon.
