Massive 17th-18th C. Mughal Indian TULWAR ~ SHAMSHIR Sword with Wootz Damascus Blade. A powerful early example, wearing a broad heavy blade well wrought of fine quality Wootz steel and showing active patterns throughout. One side of the blade with a large distinctive marking usually encountered on early blades, also featuring an impressive reinforced raised false edge of the tip area. With its steel hilt of traditional Mogul style, showing traces of silver damascene and inlaid with silver drops throughout. An exceptionally strong and battle-worthy example, showing multiple battle-marks to its edge. Total length : 36" Blade length : 31 1/2" Blade width is Impressive 1 5/8" at ricasso.
