Nice 19th C. Ottoman Turkish Army Officers SHAMSHIR ~ KILIJ Sword with Damascus Blade. In its lower grade silver or nickel silver mounts and very nice horn grips of distinctive form, the pommel of unusual multi-cornered form. Mounted with a strong broad blade with light curvature to its length and false edged tip area. The blade showing beautiful active patterns of multi layered Damascus steel. In its leather over wood scabbard having brass Steps of Allah stitching to the back and nickel-silver mounts en suite. An unusual and attractive example of overall good quality, circa second half of the 19th century. Total length : 34 1/2" Blade length : 28 1/2"
