A truly superb example of French manufacture, in its fire gilt brass furniture showing fabulous high relief details and lovely mother of pearl grips. The folding clam shell guard bearing a lengthy presentation inscription and is in a perfectly tight shape. Mounted with a mirrored double edged blade profusely etched with war trophies and Patriotic motives, lower blade bearing a struck retailer’s logo and "Made in France" on reverse. In its mirrored steel scabbard having elaborate fire gilt brass mounts en suite to the hilt.
