A massive short sword for a pioneer or a sapper, showing strong Eastern European characteristics, in its gilt brass mounts with a lovely carved wood grip bound by twist brass wire. Mounted with powerful broad blade having a very thick saw-back and a double edged tip. In its brass mounted leather over wood scabbard. A very interesting and almost never encountered early example.
