An excellent and very rare example of the Napoleonic era French Dragoon battle sword, of massive proportions with its heavy brass furniture bearing a Rooster marking to the top end of the guard and a well preserved leather and wire bound grip. Wearing a powerful straight unfullered blade with a long false edge and well preserved markings to one side of ricasso. Especially rare housed in its original leather scabbard with brass mounts en suite to the hilt. A very impressive and seldom encountered weapon for a Dragoon soldier of very significant proportions.
