Scarce 17th C. Transitional Small Sword Rapier, French, Spanish or Italian. An early transitional example with its iron hilt mounts chiseled and pierced with decorations, having a fine braid steel wire grip with turk-head bands. mounted with a sturdy double edged blade, starting out as hexagonal section later becoming of diamond section towards the tip, lower blade with large fullers struck with maker marks and writings.
