Rare Circa 1640s-1680s Italian Burgonet Officers Helmet with Fine Engraved Crest. A rare early example with a two piece skull having front and back visors. An original hinged large ear flaps. Side of the helmet bearing a struck makers mark. The front with a large engraved insignia of a Winged Lion with a halo holding an ancient scripture. Inside of the helmet covered with protective varnish to protect from rusting. A very attractive and rare piece of early armor.
