Field desks are smaller, usually collapsible writing desks designed to be carried with a field officer’s belongings.This particular field desk was used during the American Civil War by an unnamed captain from 1861 to 1864 .Newly-discovered field desks are considered historical goldmines by collectors.38 1/2" x 24" x 14". 30 3/4" x 24" x 24" (open ).
