Unusual Curved Scottish Basket-Hilt Cutlass Sword ~ Possibly of American Revolution English Navy Service. Large Iron Basket guard with pierced decoration, wooden grip with copper wire wrapping topped with a large brass crowned pommel which may serve as a skull crasher during the combat. With its strong lightly curved blade having spinal fuller and false edge tip. Highly unusual and very combat-worthy example, possibly used in the naval battles aboard the ship.
