Hermano Pedro, a Franciscan monk from the Covent of San Francisco in Antigua Guatemala, is known for his good works including starting a convalescent hospital and schools for the poor. He was canonized in 2002 by Pope John Paul II, becoming Guatemala’s first saint. This is a nice folk carving.Missing hands. Statue is 10,5" height.
