Unusual 18th C. French Dagger ~ Possibly a Naval Officer’s Dirk. Interesting early example with a strong broad double-edged blade of oval cross-section. Steel guard with engraved broad finials, checkered ebony grip and a large gilt brass pommel with nice decorations cast in high relief. Total Length (inside scabbard if present) : 12 1/2" Blade Length : 7 1/4". Detailed condition reports are not included in this catalog.
