Very Fine 1830s-1840s American Officer’s Eagle-Head Sword. A truly beautiful large example in its richly gilt brass mounts with fine carved and engraved Patriotic motives to hilt and scabbard, fluted bone grip topped with a fine eagle-head pommel. Mounted with a deeply curved large-fullered blade retaining most of its original blued and gilt panels over etched floral, military and patriotic decorations. Fine weapon indeed, would adorn any advanced collection of early American arms. Total Length (inside scabbard if present) : 37 1/2" Blade Length : 31 1/2".
