Rare 18th C. Persian Shamshir Sword with a 17th C. Wootz Damascus Blade. A very good early example having steel mounts pierced with ornamental mystical patterns, with its original grips of noble material. Mounted with a 17th century blade of superb quality showing active watered patterns throughout and gold inlaid with Islamic maker’s cartouche. In its original tooled leather over wood scabbard having pierced steel mounts en suite.
