Spectacular Large Iron Shield in the Style of 16th C. Italian or Spanish Noblemen’s Parade Armor. Large and heavy piece, extremely ornate having high relief Medieval Battle-scenes all around with carved castle on far background, and a what appears to be a Roman Warrior on the 4-horse Chariot to the center of the shield. The rim having elaborate scrolls and Mythological creatures. This is a wonderful Victorian ear representation of the Parade Armor type of shield worn by Royalties and Noble figures in the early Renaissance era, very impressive looking and would greatly compliment any wall in your favorite Castle.
