English Scottish Basket Hilt Broad Sword ~ Used through American Revolution ~ Very Wide Early Blade marked on both sides near ricasso "ANDREA FERARA", fine shark skin wrapped handle. Maker marked to a famous Spanish blacksmiths clan of 17th and 18th century. With a prominent "S" letter worked into the all steel basket hilt, perhaps denoting the Steward clan or other Jacobite affiliation. Rare and very battle-worthy example. Total Length (inside scabbard if present) : 36.5".
