Pair antique Weeden No.17 steam engines toys. all in good original condition with signs of age usage. Not sure if all parts are present.The Weeden No.17 was first manufactured in the 1890’s, it was the first engine to have a forward and reverse lever that channeled the steam from one port to the other. Engine could be reversed while running.It has a sheet metal base with four lead cast feet supporting it. These engines came with three styles of boilers, brass, nickel plated or blued.Weeden ceased making the No. 17 in 1933, at that time it sold for $4.50.The engine stands 8 1/4" high and the base is 5 1/2" x 4 1/2"Not tested for working conditions.Denver, Colorado toy collector estate.
