(1938). published by Gosudarstvennoye Izdatel’stvo ‘Iskusstvo’, Moscow 1944 Leningrad. Dimensions – 22 1/2 " by 15 3/4". Soviet and Russian graphic artist, poster artist, teacher. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR since 1973. Member of the Moscow Union of Artists. Honored Art Worker of the Russian Federation.Nikolai Avvakumov volunteered for the front in 1942. He was an artist-correspondent of the newspaper "Front-line soldier" as part of the 3rd shock army; made graphic portraits of pilots, tankers ("Pilot G.S. Novikov", "Gunner Sergeant N.L. Fedotov"); published combat leaflets and wall newspapers. At this time, he made some of the best propaganda posters aimed at raising the patriotic spirit of both the soldiers of the Red Army and the fighters of the labor front in the rear.The author of the posters: �Twice heroes of the Soviet Union, lieutenant generals of aviation G.P.
