An outstanding Soviet poster artist, painter, film artist. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1955). Corresponding member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR (1958). Awarded with State Prizes of the USSR (1946, 1949). He is best known as a master of political posters. During his life he created more than 300 works on various topics, many of which were included in the golden fund of the Soviet poster.
