Red Army Air Pilot Officer , Hand Drawing Sketch, 1932. Used for WWII posters and book illustrations.Artist Verejskij, G (1886�1962) Russian and Soviet graphic artist and painter, master of book graphics. People’s Artist of the RSFSR. Laureate of the Stalin Prize of the second degree (1946). Active member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR.He studied at the studio of E. E. Schreider (1901�1905) and in St. Petersburg, at the New Art Studio under M. V. Dobuzhinsky and A. P. Ostroumova-Lebedeva (1913�1916). He worked as a portrait and landscape painter, painted for the magazines "Theatre and Art", "Voice of Life". He was a member of the World of Art association. Participated in exhibitions since 1904.He served in the engraving department of the Hermitage (1918-1930), taught at VKhUTEMAS (1918-1922) and other educational institutions. He was one of the founders of the Experimental Lithographic Workshop of the Leningrad Union of Artists. The works of G. S. Vereisky were exhibited at exhibitions in Venice, Leipzig, New York, Sofia, Warsaw. Personal exhibitions of Vereisky were held in 1924, 1939, 1946, 1949, 1961, 1962, 1968.The works of G. S.
