Iskusstvo, Moscow-Leningrad, 1941, 32 8/7" x 22 7/8".Vladimir Odintsov was a talented easel and monumentalist painter; his early works were noted and praised by the important Soviet art critic Osip Beskin. An official confirmation of his "rising star" status came when he was made a member of the artists brigade working on a major panneau for the Soviet Pavilion at the 1939 World Fair (the select group also included A. Plastov and A. Bubnov; the brigade was headed by V. Efanov).
