Very Impressive 18th C. Polish Hussar Battle Sword with Large Blade of Extreme Curvature and Distinctive Large Hilt of Very Seldom Encountered Pattern. A very rare example of the battle saber used by famous and fearsome Polish Hussars and dating back to at least the 1700s or even slightly earlier. With its distinctively formed carved wood grip dressed in brass mounts which retain traces of its original gold gilt finish. Mounted with a large and very battle-worthy blade of exceptional curvature to its length, one side bearing a distinctive struck maker’s mark in form of the cross and two dots.
