Massive French Napoleonic era ”CORPS IMPERIAL DU GENIE” Pioneer Axe with Inscribed Heavy Blade and Two Vicious Long Spikes. Original Wood Haft with Fabric & Taks Cover. A Very Blood-chilling Medieval Looking Piece of Seldom Encountered Pattern. A truly spectacular massive example of the Pioneer’s or Sapper’s axe, with its powerful heavy axe head equipped with two large spikes for the broad variety of military and survival tasks. One side with engraved regiment designation and a large letter "C" on top. Mounted with its original strong wooden haft retaining partially worn original fabric cover with brass tacks decorations. A very exciting and seldom encountered weapon of the Napoleon’s Army troops. Overall : 34" including top spike.
