Antique Konyak Naga Ceremonial Dao (Machete), 29"L (74 cm), circa 1900, ceremonial dao, or machete, used by many tribes for daily tasks, but usually not with the ornamentation seen on this antique example – fully adorned with thick tufts of tie-dyed goatäós hair, with extremely worn cane wrapping and a coat of tree sap on the shaft and handle, plus a blade and metal ferrule showing great age..
