Rare Japanese Koto era Samurai TANTO Dagger by Well Known Smith UDA KUNIMUNE. Japanese Tanto featuring a hira-zukuri, iori-mune configuration forged in itama hada. The hamon tempering featuring a well-implemented Soshu-style midare featuring hataraki. The ubu nakago is signed Uda Kunimune, a well-known swordsmith from Etchu province, ca. 1400-1500s. The blade length is 9 3/4in (25cm) long, in a wood shirasaya storage scabbard. Blade and mounts are in near mint condition, blade shows some very small areas of loose or coarse hada.
