Rare & Fine 19th C. Russian Caucasian KINJAL Dagger in Niello Silver Mounts & Turquoise. Absolutely gorgeous and rare example, in its heavy silver mounts profusely decorated with fine Niello and filigree work, on top of that set with the series of small Turquoise stones. The back of the scabbard is signed and dated, having a seldom encountered special compartment for a side utility knife, now missing. Mounted with a powerful broad double edged blade with a deep off-set fuller to each side, front of the blade with an engraved signature of the maker in Islamic calligraphy. A fantastic dagger of highest quality Caucasian workmanship.
