Lot 234:
A fine pair of Old Sheffield plated candelabra with maker?s marks for Matthew Boulton, Birmingham circa 1800. Each candelabrum disassembles into a candlestick with a two branched top, and each single stick is capped with a flame-shaped finial which functions as a candle snuffer. The branched top of the second candelabrum can be added to the first to create a four branched single candelabrum, and with the removal of the flame finial, a fifth candle can be added if desired. All four socles and bobeches, together with the two flame shaped finials, are original and fit snugly. Each stick is marked on the rim of the base and on the underside of the central socle with the eight-pointed double sun mark of Matthew Boulton. Size: 20 1/2 each.~~.Detailed condition reports are not included in this catalog. For additional information, including condition reports, please contact us at [email protected]
