Large 18th-19th C. Ottoman Turkish Shamshir Kilij Sword with 17th C. Wootz Blade. A very impressive large Kilij saber of the Ottoman warrior, wearing a very rare 17th century large blade of Exceptional quality Wootz damascus steel, featuring extended raised false edge tip area for reinforced strikes and back slashes during combat, one side of the blade with extensive gold calligraphy of Islamic scripts and a large maker’s name cartouche. Most likely mounted with fine grips and silver inlaid steel crossguard in the later 18th to early 19th century and remaining solid intact and fully battle-ready condition till this day.
