Antique 1925 watercolor painting depicting woman holding two sculls by listed Japanese artist Kobayakawa Kiyoshi (1897-1948).Signed and dated 1925. Size: Framed: 61" x 25 1/2"; Unframed 54" x 13 1/2".Kobayakawa Kiyoshi (1896-1948) was born in Hakata, Fukuoka province, Kyushu. Starting in 1918, he studied with the Nihonga (Japanese-style painting) artist Kaburagi Kiyokata 1878-1972), whose other students included Ito Shinsui, Kawase Hasui, Torii Kotondo, Shiro Kasamasu, and Yamakawa Sh?h?.His art prints were featured in the second exhibition of Japanese prints held in Toledo, USA, in 1936.~ .
