Wayne Nez Beyale is a full-blooded Navajo; a son of a Medicine Man John Nez Beyale. Born and raised in Northern New Mexico in Pueblo Pintado. His work and ideas have been influenced directly from watching his father make ceremonial sand paintings in healing rituals. This influence is most noticeable in his depictions of the Navajo Yei bi’ chai (the Winter Gods or Medicine People). Provenance – private collection, Colorado.
