Western Europe, France, ca. 1925 CE. A fabulous vintage travel poster titled "Sardine Fishing" of the French village of Morgat signed by Alo and printed by Lucien Serre & Cie. The upper edge reads "Chemin de fer de Paris a Orleans" the name of a railway operating between Paris and Orleans promoting travel to the seaside village of Morgat, in the western most department of Finistere, also known as "Land’s End" as it juts into the Celtic Sea. The image captures a hazy yellow glow cast upon the water from the setting or rising sun as well as a view of sailboats in the harbor, fishermen tending to nets in the boat, and the rocky coastline in the distance. The poster is mounted on a particle board that is approximately the same dimensions.
