Koto tachi, 25 inch length of cutting edge, mumei o-suriage unsigned, Koto Muromachi-era blade, likely Kozori or Omiya school ca. early 1400s. The blade shows a deeper curvature and smaller ko-kissaki with bo-hi grooves and remnants of additional horimono carvings. The blade has itame hada mixed with mokume and a type of utsuri above a Bizen style gunome midare hamon with hataraki. The blade is in black tachi koshirae, late Edo period, with dark leather tsuka-ito, custom lacquer work and iron furniture featuring family mon.
